(Established in 1949)
2003
Elections
Elections for Titular Members of the Analytical Chemistry
Division will occur early in 2003 as follows:
-
The Division President will appoint five members
of a Nominating Committee, to be approved by the IUPAC Executive
Committee:
-
No more than two members from the exisiting
Division Committee
-
At least three members (including the chair)
will be from outside the IUPAC and will be selected on the
basis of the breadth of their relevant analytical chemistry
experience.
-
Nominees chosen by the Nominating Committee will:
-
Be scientists from academia, government and
industry
-
Will have expertise and experience necessary
to maintain a Division Committee with appropriate scientific
stature and breadth
-
Ensure the nominees achieve diversity in
subject matter, geographic distribution, or other characteristics.
-
The Nominating Committee will seek assistance
from relevant National Adhering Organizations to limit the
nominees from any NAO to two, in order to help ensure geographic
diversity.
-
The Nominating Committee may also establish
categories of vacancies (area of expertise) to ensure subject
matter diversity.
-
The Election itself will be run by e-mail (and
normal mail as needed) ballot by the IUPAC Secretariat
