This document is intended to provide guidelines for IUPAC National
Adhering Organizations (NAOs) on the benefits and duties of NAO membership.
In addition, it provides information for Associate NAOs and potential
This document can be seen as an informal guide on how to be a good
member. It is expected that subsequent versions of this document
will include more ideas and hints. Simply put, this document is intended
to improve the functioning of the Union by clearly stating the roles
and responsibilities of the Unions NAOs.
