Title: Solubility data related to industrial processes. Lead
sulfate
Series: Solubility Data Series; editor-in-chief: Mark

Task Group
Chairman: J.W. Lorimer
Objective/Description:
The solubility of lead sulfate in aqueous and non-aqueous solvents continues
to present problems in the design and manufacture of the still very
important lead-acid batteries, including reliable evaluated values and
revision of the standard Gibbs energy of formation, which is based on
rather old data. Lead sulfate is also an important health and environmental
hazard, and evaluated solubilities in the presence of salts are needed
to provide the basis for predictive equations for various real situations.
Progress:
To be published as part of the IUPAC-NIST Solubility Data Series.
in J. Phys. Chem. Ref. Data.
