Title: Risk assessment with a focus on particulate matter

Objective:
This manuscript will consider appropriate analytical techniques for characterization and whatever is known about the relations of different sizes and types of particles to health effects. It will also address some aspects of speciation as appropriate. The result will be an IUPAC recommendation or a technical report. Such a project will respond to current concern about the respiratory damage which may be caused by particulates, including increased morbidity and mortality.
