* Interactions Between Soil Particles and Microorganisms: Impact on the Terrestrial Ecosystem, Series on Analytical and Physical Chemistry of Environmental Systems Vol. 8
Huang, P.M., Bollag, J.-M. and Senesi, N.
John Wiley & Sons, 2002 [ISBN 0-471-60790-8]
This definitive guide provides the scientific community with a critical evaluation of the interactions of minerals, organic components and microorganisms in the soil and their importance in the ecosystem. It offers a unique insight into the effects of microbes on pollutants in the soil, which is necessary for all environmental scientists working in this area, and will allow further discussion and development to uncover the dynamics and mechanisms of the environmental processes of nature.

* Electrochemistry and Interfacial Chemistry for the Environment
A Special Topic Issue of Pure and Applied Chemistry was derived from the workshop "Electrochemistry and Interfacial Chemistry in Environmental Clean-Up and Green Chemical Processes" held on 6-7 April 2001, in Coimbra, Portugal. The articles reflect the panorama of subjects covered in the workshop, including fundamentals and the importance of current and new applications of electrochemistry and interfacial electrochemistry to environmental clean-up and green chemical processes. With a foreword by G.W. Wilson and a preface by C. Brett, this issue was coordinated by the IUPAC Special Topics Editor, Prof. James R. Bull.

* Organometallic Chemistry Directed Towards Organic Synthesis
OMCOS 11 marked the first OMCOS meeting in this new millennium and commemorated the 50th anniversary of the discovery of ferrocene, laying the cornerstone for the field of organometallic chemistry. The presentations reflected the enormous progress in this field and demonstrated the extraordinary potential of transition metal catalysis in organic synthesis to lead to the creation of new drugs and new materials, the synthesis of complex molecules, and the discovery of new chemical reactions. A selection from the plenary and invited lectures is published in the January 2002 issue of PAC, for which the conference chairman, Tien-Yau Luh, acted as editor.

* Plasma Chemistry
This issue of PAC presents an overview on many areas, from fundamental elementary processes to plasma processing, from experimental research to modeling developments.
Selected lectures from the 15th International Symposium on Plasma Chemistry, Orléans, France, 9-13 July 2001.
