Above the 2000 mark!
When 14 months ago, I compiled from our records about 1200 email
addresses to generate the first e-news subscriber list, I had little
idea how this initiative would be sustained. Your feedback kept me
going, convinced that maintaining the website was not enough, and that
indeed the expression 'it is out there' is not effective. So, time to
time (when I get to it!) I write you a note, about what is new on the
site. But who are 'you', again?
The initial compilation included individual members and fellows. Over
the months about 200 new subscribers signed in, three signed off, but
very few addresses were updated. Realizing that in fact many more
changes were independently recorded in our database, I felt the need to
force a clean-up of the subscriber list, which now also includes
contacts from National Adhering Organizations, Associate National
Adhering Organizations, and Associated Organizations. Some Affiliates
are also part of the list, including those from Canada and Germany. All
together, there are more than 2000 who receive this message.
As always, thanks for visiting <http://www.iupac.org>
Any comments are always appreciated.

* Polymer Networks - Formation-Structure-Properties
This volume contains theoretical papers, papers on the formation,
structure and properties of interpenetrating polymer networks, and
heterogeneous, filled and hybrid networks. The properties and
characterization of hydrophilic and hydrophobic gels and swollen
networks are also covered and there are contributions on calorimetric
and dielectric studies of thermoset formation and on the structure of
amorphous sulfur.
